VCPI’s Healthcare Analytics Consultant to offer insight on EHR and HIT application selection and leveraging current trends.

MILWAUKEE, March 4, 2013 – Janine Savage, RN, RAC-CT, CHC, a Healthcare Analytics Consultant for long-term and post-acute care technology at VCPI, will be presenting on Friday, March 15 at AHCA/NCAL’s 2013 Independent Owner Leadership Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She’ll share her insight and expertise in electronic health records and health information technology with a session on EHR and HIT Hot Topics: How to Avoid the Top 10 Application Selection Blunders and Leverage Current Trends in Technology.

Savage, a recognized industry thought-leader, has presented extensively on health information technology and EMR/EHR implementation in LTPAC organizations. She co-authored the Savage-Gutkind Model, an electronic records adoption model for long-term care that is considered an industry standard and has been cited in multiple white papers, publications and presentations.

“EHR is the intersection between clinical practice and technology, and the foundation for a health information exchange,” Savage said.  “Long-term and post-acute care providers need to engage in HIE in order to be competitive.  To not leverage the benefits will result in a lost opportunity and higher risk, and the stakes are higher than ever. My presentation focuses on those health care technology areas that will have the most impact on an independent owner’s ability to thrive in the new health care reform environment.”
