VCPI launches two email protection services for post-acute providers

Increasing scrutiny of plaintiffs and regulators driving need to protect reputation and revenues
MILWAUKEE, NOVEMBER 22, 2010 – VCPI announces the launch of two new services to help providers of post-acute care execute strategic management of emails, particularly in light of an increasingly litigious industry.
The first service addresses the need to mitigate what can be discovered in a legal inquiry. Without protection, all emails may be discoverable. The cost of producing emails is colossal and can often outweigh the damages sought in a suit. Any email prior to a policy date, for example, could be discoverable in litigation—forever. The second service helps manage encryption so sensitive information can be safely and securely communicated using email. Encryption can be triggered by key words or functional roles in order to automate an otherwise cumbersome process.

With the introduction of these two new services, providers gain more oversight and control of the increasingly complex process of managing emails in post-acute care.
