If you missed the webinar last month, VCPI and Donna Maassen are offering another webinar to learn about the changes in HIPAA that will impact the long-term care industry. The HITECH Act: The Evolution of Resident Confidentiality
HIPAA obligations were extended dramatically through the enactment of the HITECH Act in 2009. The HITECH Act was part of the economic stimulus package and provided for greater oversight of compliance with HIPAA regulations by healthcare providers. Congress increased penalties for HIPAA violations and expanded HIPAA obligations for business associates (vender partners). With the increased level of technology required with electronic health records, your company will need even greater focus on risk mitigation in the coming years.
Join VCPI on Tuesday March 30th and hear from Donna Maassen, Chair of the Governance Committee for the LTC Consortium, and Director of Compliance for Extendicare Health Services. Topics will include a brief background on the HITECH Act of 2009, changes in penalties, and “safe harbors” you can leverage to help protect your business.
Please click on the button to register for the session on Tuesday March 30th at 10:30am Central Time. We received very positive feedback from the first webinar, so you don’t want to miss this.
